Accommodation
The Canada Wings Aviation Training Centre provides its staff and students with on site meals and available long–term accommodations.
- The Lt. Alan McLeod Building includes 96 single occupancy secured rooms, first floor lounge and laundry services
Lt. Alan McLeod was the youngest Canadian Airman (19 years old) to be awarded the Victoria Cross in the First World War.
Dining
In the adjacent dining facility staff provide 3 daily meals comprised of a full balanced diet in accordance with the Canada Food Guide. Optionally, there are restaurants available to purchase your own meals on base.
On Site Recreation
In addition, Southport offers a well–balanced lifestyle with access to fitness facilities and outdoor recreation.
- The Aquaplex includes a 25m competition size pool, a whirlpool, splash pool and water slide
- The Gymnasium includes six badminton courts, three volleyball courts, and a regulation size basketball court
- The Weight Room has a variety of universal machines, free weights and benches. Also available are exercise bikes, stair climbers, and tread mills
- The Recreation Centre also features a six–lane, five–pin bowling alley
- Outdoor facilities include two asphalt tennis courts, two softball diamonds, a regulation size soccer field, a 400–metre track, and a 9–hole golf course
- Fitness centre in the Hilly Brown Building
